Job Summary:

The AV PM is well-rounded and experienced with commercial Audio/Visual systems. The AV PM has strong industry knowledge of best practices and installation standards consistent with InfoComm and manufacturers' specifications.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. The AV PM will recruit, hire, train, manage, supervise, promote, discipline and discharge, if necessary, all project related staff. Effectively manage all human resource issues (and escalate as needed) per Company policies and procedures. Complete recommendations for project related employees’ performance ratings, promotions and pay changes. Provide guidance and mentoring to meet all customer and Company goals and objectives
  2. The AV PM will manage the workload distribution and monitor the customer delivery and job installation progress.
  3. The AV PM will plan for, manage, monitor and maintain project profitability to achieve Company goals.
  4. The AV PM reviews all job cost postings for accuracy and completeness, including but not limited to, the preparation of invoices, customer collections and periodic financial reporting to the customer and management.
  5. The AV PM will manage all related quality and safety issues on customer work.
  6. The AV PM will participate in and/or facilitate the bid process.
  7. The AV PM acts as the Company liaison for interface with customer representative(s)
  8. The AV PM is responsible for effective communication with sales, the client and installation teams & management. Conduct regular team meetings.
  9. The AV PM will create, develop and implement account process improvement(s).
  10. The AV PM will review and monitor operational processes for accuracy, completeness, and efficiency, including but not limited to estimating, purchasing, invoicing, warehousing, scheduling and reporting.
  11. The AV PM will develop, redesign and implement process improvements as required to bring processes up to effective levels.
  12. The AV PM will work in concert with the Training Department, monitor all quality and safety issues related to the operations department. Actively promote safety as our first priority.
  13. The AV PM will complete other responsibilities as assigned.


Physical and Mental Requirements:

  • The AV PM must be self-motivated, positive in approach, and convey an appropriate professional image.
  • The AV PM must promote the Company culture and mission to all employees, vendors, clients and business partners.
  • The AV PM must possess proven problem solving skills, critical thinking skills and the ability to effectively read, write and give oral presentation(s).
  • The AV PM must also have excellent organizational skills and the ability to develop job processes and best practices.
  • The AV PM must have high skill level to interpret blueprints and other project documents, including but not limited to, specifications, reporting and quality requirements.
  • The AV PM t must be able to travel within the branch territory and/or regional territory as needed.
  • The AV PM must be able to work at heights, off a ladder and in confined spaces, lift up to 50 pounds and move up to 75 pounds.
  • The AV PM must be able to see and distinguish different colors, read small print and hear and recognize audible signals such as dial tones.

Education, Certification, License, and Skill Requirements:


    • Must have HS Diploma or GED, prefer Bachelor’s degree
    • Prefer a minimum of seven (7) years’ supervisory or managerial experience.
    • Must have 2 to 5+ years of proven commercial audiovisual installation project management experience – pre-planning to closeout.
    • PMP certification and/or InfoComm CTS preferred.
    • Must be proficient with a computer and be skilled with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and MS Project).
    • Must meet Company minimum driving standards.
    • Must have demonstrated, verifiable ability to define a project, create a project scope of work, create an estimate, develop detailed associated tasks and manage these to final close-out and customer turnover. Must be able to use common trade tools.
